#21 Pack Tops Pitt for First Road Win of 2026

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – No. 21 NC State gymnastics earned its first road win of the 2026 season Sunday evening, defeating Pittsburgh, 195.875-195.525, at Fitzgerald Field House. The Pack's second overall win of the year was highlighted by event victories from Syniya Thomas on vault and Elle Hadrick on floor.
NC State trailed the Panthers after two rotations but surged down the stretch, posting scores of 49.150 on floor and 49.000 on beam to complete the comeback and secure its second ACC win of the season. The Wolfpack finished the meet with eight total podium finishes.
With the victory, NC State extended its winning streak over Pitt to seven consecutive duals.
Bars (48.975)
NC State opened the meet with its best bars score of the season, posting a 48.975 to take an early lead after the first rotation.
Ava Myers led off with a strong 9.850 to match her career high. Jenna Rusk (9.700) and Madeline Reid (9.750) followed, before Caroline Volk delivered a stuck routine for a season-best 9.800. Hadrick capped the rotation with a season-high 9.875, marking her third consecutive meet with that score on bars and earning a third-place finish on the event.
Pitt claimed the top two spots on the podium with matching 9.900s.
Vault (48.750)
In the second rotation, the Pack totaled a 48.750 on vault, led by Thomas' career-best 9.875 to win the event for her third vault title of the season.
Lauren Wright opened with a 9.750, followed by a 9.800 from Myers, who finished in a four-way tie for second. Despite the strong showing, Pitt held a narrow lead heading into the final two rotations.
Floor (49.150)
The 14th-ranked NC State floor unit retook the lead after a strong rotation, posting its fourth 49.000-plus score of the season on the event with a 49.150.
Hadrick matched her career best with her fourth career 9.900 on floor and the second time she has reached that mark this season. The performance earned her the third floor event win of her season.
Autumn Rardin delivered a career-best 9.875 for the Pack, while anchor Thomas matched that score to cap off a strong finish to the rotation. The duo shared second place on the floor podium.
Jenna Rusk led off the lineup with a 9.775 on the event.
Beam (49.000)
NC State sealed the win with its first 49.000-plus beam score of the season. Addison Tackett and Thomas led the way with matching 9.825s to share second place on the event, while Volk added a 9.800, her best beam score since the season opener at Auburn.
The Pack's beam total exceeded its season average entering the meet (48.750), continuing a trend of steady improvement.
Camryn Chiu claimed the event win for Pitt with a 9.900.
