Wolfpack Splits Squad for Brant Tolsma Elite and Bob Pollock Invitational

RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State Track & Field team will continue its season this weekend with athletes competing at two separate meets. NC State will be represented at the Brant Tolsma Elite Invite in Lynchburg, Va., and the Bob Pollock Invitational in Clemson, S.C.

The NC State track & field team continued its 2026 campaign at the Liberty Open with another strong showing, which included three event victories and seven athletes earning spots on NC State's all-time top-10 lists in their respective events.
Bethany Michalak and Kate Putman led the way in the mile, shattering the facility record with times of 4:35.91 and 4:36.97. Their performances currently rank No. 18 and No. 21 nationally among Division I mile times this season. Brooke Rauber also delivered a strong mile effort, posting a 4:42.57 to move into No. 47 nationally, while Jimmy Mullarkey clocked 4:05.26 in the men's mile, ranking No. 80 this season.

Brooke Rauber delivered an impressive mile, posting a time the ranks her No. 47 nationally this season. On the men's side, Jimmy Mullarkey recorded a time of 4:05.26, ranking No. 80 all-time in the Division I mile this season.
In the field events, Mariama Hunt reached 40' 7.75 in the triple jump, placing her No. 88 nationally, and Ryan John's 51' 0.25 jump ranks him No. 33 in Division I this season. In the high jump, Christian Hackett cleared 6' 8.75, earning a No. 94 national mark.
TOP-20 NATIONAL RANKINGS
Sadie Engelhardt and Bethany Michalak rank among the top 20 performers in the mile this season, with Engelhardt clocking a time of 4:27.54 to sit at No. 3 nationally and Michalak posting a 4:35.91 mark for No. 18.
Angelina Napoleon is ranked fourth in the NCAA in the 3000m this season, with a time of 8:46.15.
At the squad level, Kate Putman and Brooke Rauber join Engelhardt and Michalak to form the nation's No. 2-ranked women's mile group, boasting an average time of 4:35.75.
