BLACKSBURG, Va. - The NC State track & field team returns to competition this weekend at the Virginia Tech Invitational, set for January 16-17 at Rector Field House in Blacksburg, Virginia

A total of 39 Wolfpack athletes are scheduled to compete over the two-day meet, with 35 making their 2025-26 indoor season debuts.

NC State last competed on December 6 at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener in Boston, MA and the Visit Winston-Salem College Kick-Off in Winston-Salem, NC.
In Boston, Elliott McArthur opened his season with a strong showing in the mile, running 4:03.19 to finish eighth overall and move to No. 9 on NC State's all-time top-10 list.Â
Angelina Napoleon competed in the elite section of the 3000m in Boston, finishing fourth with a time of 8:46.15, recording the second-fastest 3000m time in NC State history.
At the Visit Winston-Salem College Kick-off, Tony Taylor II recorded a personal-best mark of 17.83m in the weight throw to earn a runner-up finish. Natlie Griffith also posted a personal-best 16.80m in the weight throw, finishing fifth overall.
