Women’s Golf Set for ACC Championship

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The NC State women's golf team is set to compete in the 2025 ACC Women's Golf Championship. This marks NC State's 23rd appearance at the ACC Championship, set for Wednesday April 16 through Saturday, April 19 at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina.
The first and second rounds of the tournament will take place on Wednesday, April 16, with the first round tee offs starting at 7:30 a.m. and the second round following at 2 p.m. NC State will tee off in the 9:10-9:50 a.m. interval with Virginia Tech and Louisville off the first tee. The third round of stroke play will follow on Thursday, April 17 at 8 a.m.
The top six teams following 54 holes of stroke play will advance to the match play portion of the ACC Championship. The first round of match play will take place on Friday, April 18 at 7:30 a.m., while the semifinals will follow at 1:30 p.m. An ACC Champion will be crowned on Saturday, April 19, with that match taking place at 9 a.m.
Sedgefield Country Club is a 72-par, 6,092-yard course. This marks the first time since 2021 the tournament championship will be held at Sedgefield.
NC State, ranked No. 44 according to the Scoreboard Powered by Clippd Ranking, is the No. 10 seed in the tournament. The ACC features 12 teams that sit in the top 50, as well as six top 25 squads.
Marie Eline Madsen leads the Wolfpack with a 71.00 scoring average with 16 rounds at par or better and nine rounds in the 60s. She is coming off her first career win at the ECU Ironwood Invitational and has finished in the top 20 in all nine tournament appearances. As a freshman, Madsen has logged seven top 10 showings and carded a career-low 66 at the Daniel Island Invitational, an event the Pack won.
Lauren Olivares Leon is the team's second lowest scorer with a 72.65 scoring average. She has 11 rounds at par or better and two rounds in the 60s. Olivares Leon has one win and six top 20 finishes. She is coming off playing at the Augusta National Women's Amatuer, finishing with an even 144 (74-70), just one shot off the cutline.
Vania Simont goes into the ACC Championship, logging a 75.23 scoring average with five rounds at par or better. The junior has two top 10 showings this season, while playing in all nine tournaments. She has carded a season-low 69 at the Daniel Island Invitational.
Jaclyn Kenzel has played in six tournaments in her graduate season. She registers a 77.65 scoring average and has shot 76.91 in the spring. She earned a career-high No. 15 finish at the Daniel Island Invitational, having carded a 2-over 218 (72-74-72).
Lea Ludwig wraps up the lineup and has played in six tournaments this season and has carded a 76.89 scoring average. Caitlin Whitehead will serve as the team's alternate this weekend, and can sub in after any round.
