WILMINGTON, N.C. – The NC State women's golf team tied for 12th in an 18-team field at the Landfall Tradition this weekend to wrap up the fall slate. Marie Eline Madsen led the Wolfpack with an eighth-place finish and Ellie Hildreth followed with a tie for 17th. NC State shot a 43-over 907 (300-298-309).
Madsen logged her third top-10 finish of the season, 18th of her career, with a 2-over 218 (68-76-74). In the first round, she shot a 35 on the back nine and a 33 on the front with five total birdies. Her 68 in the first round marked her fourth round in the 60s this season. Madsen finished the tournament with nearly a clean card with just a double bogey on hole 16 with 17 pars. She finished the tournament second in most pars (40) and the third best par 4s average (3.93).
Hildreth logged her second top-20 finish of the season, eighth in her career, tying for 17th with a 6-over 222 (72-73-77). In the first round, she started out hot, sitting at 5-under par through the first five holes with three birdies and an eagle at 14. She shot a 32 on the back and finished the first round with a 72 for her fourth round at par or better this season. Hildreth finished the tournament with the seventh best par 4s average (3.97).
Bonnie Lo was the next finisher for the Pack, logging a 15-over 231 (80-74-77) to tie for 66th. She counted in all three rounds. Elizabeth Sullivan ended in 87th with a 22-over 238 (81-76-81) and Violeta Fernandez-Tagle finished in a tie for 92nd with a 25-over 241 (80-75-86).
The Pack finished with a tie for the fifth best par 4s average in the field (4.16)
