Offensive Dominance Allows Pack to have Record Day in Series Opener at Boston College

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Junior Hannah Church tied the program record for most single game RBI (7) while the team recorded 19 runs and 17 RBI to tie for third most in program history in a convincing win over Boston College in game one of the series Friday afternoon.
Church became the first person to record seven RBI's since Molly Hutchinson tallied just as many in 2017 against Georgia Tech.
The 19 runs scored is the most since 2023 when the Pack posted the same number against NC Central. The 17 RBI's also tied for third most in program history in a single game since 2015 when the squad had just as many against Radford.
The Pack moves to 19-11 overall and 3–4 in conference play.
How it Happened
The Pack will return to Harington Athletic Village on the campus of Boston College on Saturday, March 22 at 1pm for game two of the series. It will be streamed on ACCNX.

How it Happened
- Graduate Michele Tarpey led off the afternoon with a double to right center field to get the Pack going. Junior Teagan Thrunk followed it up with a single up the middle to drive home Tarpey and put the Pack on the board, 1-0.
- The third hitter for the Pack was junior Hannah Church, who smashed a bomb to right field to push the Wolfpack ahead, 3-0.
- The Pack picked up the first two outs of the frame with a 1-3 double play. Redshirt-sophomore Wynne Gore struck out the final batter of the bottom half of the first to keep the Eagles off the board.
- Junior MaKayla Marbury led off the inning by reaching base on an error by the Eagles infield. Tori Ensley also reached base after being walked and Thrunk singled up the middle with one out to load the bases for Church.
- Church smashed her second hit in her second at bat, a double down the right line, to drive home two and push the lead to 5-0.
- The Eagles brought in a pitching change but it didn't stop the Pack as Taylor Ensley reached base on a single to right field, bringing home two. Freshman Kendal Simmers and graduate Hannah Goodwin were both walked to load the bases for Marbury, who ended up lining out to left.
- NC State posted another wild inning in the third that saw the entire lineup once. The Pack posted six hits which was highlighted by Church's second homer of the afternoon to mark her second two homer game of the season.
- Boston College posted one on the board in the bottom of the third after a throwing error by the Pack's defense.
- The Eagles posted four in the fourth after a double, triple, stolen base, and ground-out allowed one to score.
- NC State posted three more runs in the fourth after a homer from Hannah Goodwin.
- The fifth inning saw the Pack score two more times after a wild pitch and stolen base pushed the score to 19. NC State picked up three quick outs in the bottom of the fifth to end the game on top, 19-5.
- Gore picked up the win to move to 5-3 on the season.
