The Basics of the Match Up
- The Pack will head north to Chestnut Hill for the first time since 2022 and will meet with the Eagles for the first time since 2023.
- The series will be the first with BC under head coach Lindsay Leftwich.
- NC State holds a 31-18 record with Boston College and won eight of the last 10 meetings.
- NC State earned the sweep in the last series and went 2-1 in the series prior to that.
- When playing in Massachusetts, the Pack is 13-7.
- be the 19th win of the season
- be the 49th win in the Leftwich Era
- be the 9th ACC win in the Leftwich Era
- be the first win over Boston College in the Leftwich Era
- be the 616th win in program history
- be the 179th ACC win in program history
- would be the second of the season for NC State
- would be the third series won in ACC play under the leadership of Leftwich
- Michele Tarpey - 6 hits from 100 on her career
- Hannah Goodwin - 12 hits from 150 on her career
- MaKayla Marbury - 17 hits from 100 on her career
- Hannah Church - 25 hits from 100 on her career
- Taylor Ensley - 25 hits from 150 on her career
- Tori Ensley - 40 hits from 100 on her career
- NC State started game three of the Notre Dame series with a 2-0 lead but the Irish responded in both the fourth and fifth innings to take a 3-2 lead.
- Graduate Michele Tarpey worked a 15-pitch at bat before being thrown ball four to head to first and then with two outs on the board, senior Taylor Ensley hit an RBI single that tied the game.
- Junior MaKayla Marbury was the unsung hero as she smashed a no brainer past the left field netting to secure the eighth inning win for the Pack.
- The game marked the first this season that the Pack earned a comeback win AND the first extra inning meeting.
- Junior MaKayla Marbury is putting the utility in utility player. She's quiet but gets the job done both offensively and defensively.
- Typically an infielder or designated hitter, Marbury recently shifted to left field and made a Sports Center worthy diving catch in her first outing.
- Her offensive power is needed in the lineup so the shift to left was in the works for awhile.
- She's come in clutch for the Pack a few times in her career, whether its a pinch hit home run, stolen base, or walk-off home run, she's someone you can count on to get the job done.
- The Pack has had some long at bats this season.
- Junior Hannah Church recorded a 13-pitch at bat in the first game of the series against Notre Dame and graduate Michele Tarpey topped it with a 15-pitch at bat in the rubber match 24 hours later.
- The result of both? A walk to occupy first but the difference for the two was Tarpey would later score the game tying run where Church was left on base.
