No. 9/10 NC State Women’s Basketball Hosts Wake Forest for Senior Day

RALEIGH, N.C. – The No. 9/10 NC State women's basketball team will host its final home game of the regular season on Thursday, Feb. 27, as the Pack takes on Wake Forest at Reynolds Coliseum. The game will tipoff at 7 p.m. with Senior Day ceremonies set to take place pregame. NC State will honor Madison Hayes, Aziaha James, Saniya Rivers and Lizzy Williamson. The Pack enters Thursday's game 15-0 at home with a 20-game home winning streak. That game will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.
ABOUT NC STATE
- The Wolfpack is coming off an incredible week after defeating two top 25 opponents, starting with an 83-68 win at No. 20/20 Georgia Tech before one of the biggest wins in college basketball this season with a 104-95 double overtime victory against No. 1/1 Notre Dame, who came into that game 15-0 in ACC play
- That double overtime victory over Notre Dame marked the Pack's fifth win over an AP No. 1 team in program history and third in the Wes Moore era, as he has the most wins over No. 1 opponents as a coach in NC State history
- NC State's 100+ points against Notre Dame was the the first time this century a team has put up 100 points against an AP No. 1 team in WBB
- The Pack's three wins in the past five season over AP No. 1 opponents is the most in D1
- The win over No. 1/1 Notre Dame was the Pack's first double overtime game played since 2021 and the first time the Pack has cracked 100 points in a game also since 2021
- NC State women's basketball also hosted College GameDay for the first time and became the fourth school to host College GameDay in football, men's basketball and women's basketball
- The Pack is No. 9 in the AP Poll and No. 10 in the WBCA Coaches Poll
- Four of the Pack's five losses have come to AP Top 10 teams: South Carolina (6), LSU (7), UNC (8) and TCU (10)

- NC State swept the ACC weekly awards, as Zoe Brooks was named ACC Player of the Week and Tilda Trygger was tabbed ACC Freshman of the Week. Brooks averaged 25.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, including a career-high 33 vs. Notre Dame, and Trygger averaged 13.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game, highlighted by a career-high matching 19 points against the Irish
- Aziaha James leads NC State with 17.8 points per game, which is No. 7 in the ACC, and 55 made 3-pointers. The senior was one of 20 named to the Wooden Late Midseason Watch List, is one of 30 on the Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy Midseason Player of the Year Team and one of 50 on the USBWA Midseason Player of the Year Watch List
- Hayes paces the Pack with 6.9 rebounds per game and has a team's most 55 offensive rebounds
- Saniya Rivers leads the Pack in steals per game (1.7) and blocks per game (1.3). She is on the USBWA Midseason Player of the Year Watch List and Cheryl Miller Midseason Top 10 Watch List
- Brooks has a team-leading 3.9 assists per game
- Trygger is logging a 54.5 field goal percentage (72-132), which is the most among players with 100+ attempts
- The Pack leads the ACC and is second in the country in least fouls per game (11.9). NC State is second in the ACC in defensive rebounds per game (29.6) and rebounds per game (41.70), which are ninth and 17th in the country. NC State is also third in turnovers per game (12.0), scoring offense (78.20, field goal percentage (.455) and field goal percentage defense (.390)
SCOUTING WAKE FOREST
- Wake Forest was picked to finish No. 17 in the ACC Preseason Poll. The Demon Deacons finished 7-25 with a 2-16 ACC record last season

LAST TIME OUT
- The Pack delivered one of the biggest wins in college basketball this season, defeating No. 1/1 Notre Dame, 104-95 in double overtime in the fourth most watched college women's basketball game this season
- NC State handed the Irish its first loss since Nov. 30 (went into game on a 19-game winning streak) and first loss in ACC play (after starting 15-0)
- The Pack's 104 points was the most since 2021. NC State used a 10-0 run in the double overtime period to pull away in a game that saw 21 lead changes and 21 ties
- Brooks registered a career-high 33 points behind 9-of-20 from the field and 14-of-14 from the free throw line, the sixth most free throws made by an NC State player. She also had a double-double, adding 10 rebounds, three assists and two blocks, and was named AP National Player of the Week
- Rivers was one assist shy of a triple-double with 14 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists, along with two steals and three blocks
- James finished with her 12th 20-point game of the season with 20 points, five rebounds and two assists. She also had a highlight reel behind-the-back layup in double overtime
- Hayes was solid with 13 points and four boards
- Trygger was big, matching a career-high 19 points with 10 rebounds for third double-double with two blocks
- All starters played 43+ minutes
- Zamareya Jones delivered a big 3-pointer for the Pack off the bench, playing 15.5 minutes
- Brooks, James and Rivers scored or assisted on 93 of the Pack's 104 points
