
NC State Gymnastics Sets Season Highs in Rivalry Win Over UNC

RALEIGH, N.C. – A packed Reynolds Coliseum and an array of program bests made for an electric night for the 18th-ranked NC State gymnastics team as it posted its highest score of the season for its third straight victory. NC State defeated in-state ACC rival No. 24 North Carolina 197.025-195.500.
The evening was highlighted by five career highs, most notably Chloe Negrete posting a career-high 9.975 on beam after a perfectly stuck dismount. She then anchored on floor, wowing the crowd for a standing ovation with a 9.900. Krista Zultevicz stuck her dismount for a career-high 9.875 to finish second on vault. Elle Hadrick scored a 9.875 on bars, and Ashley Knight delivered her best routine on beam for a 9.825.
The team posted three season-best event scores on vault (49.175), bars (49.250) and beam (49.325), securing its highest team score of 197.025. This marks the second meet of the season where the Wolfpack has hit 49+ in all events, scoring 49.275 on floor to finish the evening strong.
VAULT
NC State started the evening on vault, where leadoff Meg Adler set a career-high 9.850 to build strong momentum. Krista Zultevicz, competing fourth in the lineup, recorded a career-high 9.875 to finish second in the event. Chloe Negrete anchored with a 9.850 to round out the top three.
BARS
Elle Hadrick posted a career-high 9.875 to finish third, while Katie Harper anchored with a 9.900 for the second consecutive meet, finishing second. Ava Myers delivered a 9.825 from the No. 3 spot, followed by Caroline Volk's 9.850.
BEAM
In the third rotation, the Wolfpack competed on beam, where senior Brooke Smead made her collegiate debut and delivered an impressive routine for a 9.875, earning third place. Ashley Knight posted a career-high 9.825, while Katie Harper notched a season-best 9.850. Chloe Negrete anchored and secured the lead with a perfectly stuck dismount, scoring a career-high 9.975. NC State led 147.750-147.475 heading into the final rotation.
FLOOR
With Reynolds Coliseum energized after an impressive beam performance, NC State entered the last rotation on floor. Meg Adler and Elle Hadrick matched their season-best scores of 9.850 in the No. 1 and 2 spots, tying for third in the event. Ashley Knight continued the momentum with another 9.850. Chloe Negrete anchored, hitting all three passes, including her double-back finale, earning a standing ovation and a 9.900.
