
No. 20 NC State Defeats No. 23 Ohio State in Thrilling Final Home Meet of the Season

RALEIGH, N.C. — A season-high event score on beam and floor helped No. 20 NC State secure a victory over No. 23 Ohio State, 197.000-196.325, in front of a packed Reynolds Coliseum crowd in the Pack's last home meet of the season.
NC State earned season-high event scores on beam (49.350) and floor (49.425) to clinch the victory. Notable performances from Ava Myers, who posted her highest score of the season on vault with a 9.800 and Caroline Volk, who earned her first career victory with a 9.925 on bars helped guide the Pack to the win. In addition, all six Wolfpack gymnasts stuck their beam routines; and graduate Chloe Negrete, nailed all of her routines, including a 9.975 on beam and floor. Negrete received a standing ovation as Friday night marked her final performance at Reynolds Coliseum.
VAULT (49.125)
The evening kicked off on vault, where Ava Myers competed in the No. 2 spot and earned a career-high 9.800. Chloe Negrete, performing in the No. 5 spot, posted a 9.850 to tie for second place. Vault anchor Ashley Knight won the event with a 9.900.
BARS (49.100)
On bars, Caroline Volk earned her first career event victory with a career-high 9.925. Madeline Reid, competing on bars for the second time this season, posted the second-highest score of the team. Ava Myers rounded out the top three with a career-high 9.800.
BEAM (49.350)
After sticking all six routines, NC State achieved its highest beam score of the season with a 49.350. Caroline Volk continued her impressive night with a 9.900 to finish second in the event, while Brooke Smead returned to competition and earned a 9.850, finishing third. Chloe Negrete anchored the event with a 9.975, earning her second-highest beam score of the season to claim the event victory.
FLOOR (49.425)
The evening concluded with floor, where NC State achieved yet another season-high event score, posting a 49.425, which tied for the seventh-highest event score in school history. Meg Adler set the tone with a 9.850. Elle Hadrick achieved a career-high 9.900 to tie for second place with teammate Ashley Knight. Negrete anchored the event with a stellar 9.975, earning a standing ovation and securing the event victory in her final performance as a Wolfpack gymnast.
