
Pack Scheduled for First Midweek Matchup at Elon

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The NC State softball team is set to head to Elon to face the Phoenix in its first midweek matchup of the season Tuesday, Feb. 17. The Phoenix will host the Pack at 5pm on FloSports.Â

- Tuesday's meeting with the Phoenix marks the 26th all-time between the two programs.
- NC State leads the series, 18-8, and has won the last three meetings.

- Sophomore right handed pitcher Carly Maxton topped her own career high in strikeouts that she set just seven days prior in the Pack's shutout win over Dartmouth on Feb. 14.
- She tallied 10 strikeouts in her second complete game and second shutout of the season. She caught six batters swinging and got four looking in the outing.
- Her 10 K's make her just the second person on the staff to record a game with double-digit strikeouts in their career (Rylee Wyman vs. UConn on 2/17/24).
- The Townsend, DE native is the only pitcher on the roster with a 0.00 ERA through two weeks as well.
- She is one of only two pitchers in the ACC to have a 0.00 ERA through the first two weeks and she is tied for first in the NCAA amongst D1 pitchers for her ERA. She leads all D1 pitchers tied with a 0.00 ERA with 22.2 innings pitched.

- She appeared in all five games of opening weekend and made four starts for the Pack. She went 4-for-12 from the plate and had one RBI.
