RALEIGH, N.C. – Sophomore forward Jade Bordeleau netted a hat trick to power the NC State women's soccer team to a 4-0 victory over George Washington on Sunday afternoon at Dail Soccer Stadium.
Bordeleau recorded her first goal of the season to give the Wolfpack a 1-0 lead late in the first half. Bordeleau's original effort was blocked before Mary Frances Symmes crossed the ball back in from the right side. George Washington goalkeeper Ainsley Lumpe could not collect Symmes' cross, leading to Bordeleau charging in to finish off the Pack's opening goal in the 39th minute.
Bordeleau needed less than a minute in the second half to double the Wolfpack's advantage to 2-0. NC State goalkeeper Olivia Pratapas logged the assist as her long service from her own half dropped in beyond the George Washington defensive line, allowing for Bordeleau to chase down the pass and finish for her second goal of the day.
Bordeleau completed her hat trick in the 48th minute with her second solo goal of the day, making it 3-0 when her right-footed finish whistled past Lumpe. The sophomore's hat trick marked NC State's first hat trick since Tziarra King recorded one five years ago to the day on Sept. 15, 2019, against Furman. The Wolfpack won that match 3-1 over the visiting Paladins.
Yuna Aoki concluded the scoring for the Pack with her first-career goal, blasting a left-footed effort into the top-right corner for a 4-0 lead in the 60th minute. Paige Tolentino and Rosalie Olou recorded assists on Aoki's strike.
NC State outshot George Washington 21-5 on the afternoon, holding a 9-1 advantage in shots on target. The Wolfpack dominated in the second half with 16 of its 21 shots coming in the final 45 minutes. Bordeleau led the Pack with five shots and three on goal, while freshman Madie Miller ranked second in both categories with four shots and two shots on target.
Pratapas logged her third shutout of the season in the 4-0 victory. She made her only save of the match in the first half.
