Pack to Host Presbyterian for Final Non-Conference Series

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The NC State softball team is set to host Presbyterian for the final non conference series of the 2024 campaign. The Pack will host the Blue Hose for a double header on Saturday, April 20 starting at 2pm and game three is set for Sunday April, 21 at 12pm.

Parking on campus is free for those attending the game.

A Win ...

Would move the Pack to 24-20 on the season
(on Saturday) Would be the first win over Presbyterian
Would mark the 619th win in program history
Would be the 245th win at Dail Softball Stadium

Would mark the first series win of the 2024 campaign

Series History with Presbyterian

Saturday's doubleheader marks the first ever meeting between the two programs.

Kaylee Nearing 100

The second baseman tallied her 94th career hit in the win Virginia on April 13.
The senior would be the second member of the 2024 roster to achieve 100 career hits during the season.

The Amanda Show

Sophomore catcher Amanda Hasler is making her presence known on the diamond.
She leads the team with 11 home runs, 11 hit by pitch tallies and is second on the team with 40 hits, 80 total bases.
Her 27 career hit by pitch total ranks second in program history for most in a career -- Alyssa Ishibashi recorded 29 in her career.
A nerd of the game, Hasler is one of the most intelligent softball players on the diamond. She is constantly putting in the work to grow her game and be able to help her teammates out.
During her freshman campaign, she became just the second catcher in program history to call pitches. She also set the program record for total number of hit by pitch for a freshman (16).
Her 20 career home runs leads the 2024 squad with most in their career

Have a Day Tay

Taylor Ensley is having quite the season - the junior ties for first on the team in doubles (9) and RBI's (36), and is tied for second for homers (10)
Her .373 batting average marks the best through the first 19 games of the season in her career (.359 in 2022, .259 in 2023).
She tied a career high two doubles against ECU -- she recorded two against UNC in 2023.
She held the second longest reached base streak (12 games) and tallies the most multiple RBI games (7) this season.

Back & Feelin' Lucky

Redshirt sophomore Michele Tarpey missed the 2023 season due to a hip injury. She spent the off season finishing up rehab and working on all things softball to get back on the field in 2024.
In opening weekend, she held a five game hit streak, including hitting the first home run for the Pack of 2024. She finished opening weekend with six hits in five games, including a solo home run against Western Kentucky
The redshirt sophomore had three at bats and recorded three hits with three RBI's against George Mason on March 12. The game was marked the first of her career where she tallied the same number in all three categories.
She maintained a 15 game, reached base streak -- the longest by anyone in their career on the 2024 roster.
