RALEIGH, N.C. – The 2023-2024 regular season comes to a close Friday, February 2nd, as the No. 3/No. 10 Wolfpack welcomes UNC Wilmington for a dual meet beginning at 5 p.m. from the Willis R. Casey Aquatic Center.
The meet will be streamed on ACC Network Extra, with live results being found on the Meet Mobile app.
It is Senior Night, and 23 seniors will be recognized for their time and accomplishments with NC State Swim and Dive before the meet kicks off.
Last time out, the Wolfpack split their dual meet with Texas, with the men bringing home the win and the Women dropping the contest.
Kacper Stokowski and Katharine Berkoff brought home ACC Swimmer of the Week honors for their performances. It was the second straight week NC State brought home ACC honors and fifth time overall this season.
Berkoff led the way with two first-place finishes, two second-place finishes, and a pool record. Swimming a 49.82 in the women's 100 back, the Missoula, Montana, native swam the second-fastest time in history to win the event. It sets a season-best mark and qualifies for NCAA A cut time. Her time sits behind only Virginia's Gretchen Walsh. Berkoff joins Walsh as the only swimmers under the 50-second mark in the event.
Stokowski set a personal best in the 200 free with a time of 1:32.91, which put him in the top 10 in Wolfpack history in the event and marked an NCAA B cut time. In the 50 back, the Warsaw, Poland, native set a season-best of 21.54, followed by a first-place finish and another season-best in the 100 back with a time of 44.37. The time was a pool record and qualified as an NCAA A cut time.
UNCW enters the meet with the men's team 5-1 and the women's team 2-4 in dual meet action. These two programs are very familiar, having met one another the past two seasons and NC State winning both duals.
The 2024 Wolfpack senior class has accomplished so much while at NC State.
