Five Wolfpack Athletes Set to Compete at 2026 Pan Pacific Championships

IRVINE, CA. Four Wolfpack athletes are set to compete at the 2026 Pan Pacific Championships, taking place Wednesday, Aug. 12 through Saturday, Aug. 15.
Coverage of both the morning and evening sessions will be available on Peacock and NBCSN, with live results posted on the Omega timing website. Preliminary sessions will begin at 1 p.m. ET each day, followed by finals at 10 p.m. ET.
Representing Team USA will be Katharine Berkoff, Leah Shackley, Daniel Diehl and Quintin McCarty, along with assistant coach Stefani Wendelschaefer. Incoming freshman Morgan Cope will also compete at the championships, representing South Africa. Coach Wendelscheafer was named to the Team USA Pan Pacific Championships coaching staff back in June. Wendelschaefer was selected in both 2023 and 2024 to coach the USA National team.Â
Shackley and Berkoff are both set to compete in the women's 100m backstroke, with Berkoff entering the competition ranked third and Shackley ranked sixth. On the men's side, Diehl enters the 100m backstroke ranked fourth overall.
McCarty will look to build on his recent success after winning gold in the 50m backstroke just one week ago. He entered the Pan Pacific Championships ranked second in the 50m backstroke and fourth in the 50m freestyle, positioning him as a strong contender in both events.
