
Pack Closes Out Non-Conference Slate, Hosts James Madison

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State women's basketball team will wrap up the non-conference slate by hosting James Madison on Thursday. The two teams will tipoff at 7 p.m. at Reynolds Coliseum, and the game, which is head coach Wes Moore's 1,100th game as a head coach, will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra. Thursday's game serves as the Holiday game, in which fans are encouraged to wear holiday sweaters and the first 500 fans will receive an ornament.
ABOUT NC STATE
- The Wolfpack is on a four-game winning streak and opened up 1-0 in ACC play after defeating Louisville on the road at the Jimmy V Women's Classic, 72-42
- The Cardinals' 42 points was the fewest points Louisville has scored in a game since 2010 (when Louisville lost to UConn, 84-38 at home). That UConn team went on to finish 39-0 to win their second straight undefeated NCAA National Championship
- The Pack has the 10th toughest strength of schedule in the country, which is No. 5 of all Power 4 teams
- NC State is one of 26 schools in the country to have picked up at least one Quad 1 win

SCOUTING JAMES MADISON
- ​​JMU is one of the top mid-major programs in the country and is favored to win the Sun Belt with 12 first-place votes in the SBC Preseason Poll
- The Dukes finished 23-12 and third place in the Sun Belt (13-5), ending the season with a WBIT invitation before falling to Stony Brook in the first round, 81-70Â
- Peyton McDaniel was tabbed the Sun Belt Preseason Player of the Year, as well as a First Team Preseason choice. She led the team with 15.1 points and 7.1 rebounds per game with a team-leading 30 steals last season
- Kseniia Jozlova was named to the All-Sun Belt Preseason Second Team, registering 11.7 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. Ro Scott was a Preseason Third Team selection, having averaged 18.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per game at Marshall last year
- This season, McDaniel paces JMU with 14.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game, along with 29 steals and six blocks
- Zakiya Stephenson leads with 31 assists
SERIES HISTORY (TIED AT 1-1)
- The Pack is 0-1 on the road and 1-0 on a neutral court vs. James Madison
- This marks NC State's first time hosting JMU
- The first game of the series was in 1977, resulting in a 65-50 win for the Pack on a neutral floor

LAST TIME OUT
- NC State began ACC play 1-0 with a 30-point win, 72-42, at Louisville on Sunday

- Rivers earned her second straight double-double with 14 points and a season-high 13 rebounds. She added two assists, two steals and one block
- James finished just shy of a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds with five assists and three steals
- Brooks went 5-of-8 from the field and logged 11 points, three boards and three assists
- Tilda Trygger pulled down a career-high 10 rebounds and added four points in 15 minutes
- Mallory Collier went 3-of-4 from the field for six points and Laci Steele had six points off the bench

The Pack will have over a week off for the holiday break before returning to action to begin ACC play on Sunday, Dec. 29, playing host to Clemson. The Pack and Tigers will tipoff at 6 p.m. and will be broadcast on ACC Network. Tickets are sold out, but can be purchased on SeatGeek.
