
NC State Battles to a Draw with No. 19 Virginia Tech

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State battled to a 0-0 draw with No. 19 Virginia Tech in its final home matchup of the regular season.
First Half
The opening half was a defensive battle, with both the Wolfpack and Hokies attempting to create scoring opportunities. Virginia Tech managed two shots, including a save by NC State goalkeeper Olivia Pratapas, while the Wolfpack recorded a single off-target shot by Paige Tolentino. Although the Hokies had a slight edge in possession (59% to NC State's 41%), neither team was able to score.
Second Half
Virginia Tech ramped up the pressure in the second half, taking six shots to NC State's three. Pratapas was crucial for the Wolfpack, making three additional saves, including a close-range effort from Anna Weir of the Hokies in the 87th minute.
NC State's best chance to score in the match came in the 84th minute when Brianna Weber found herself in a promising one-on-one situation with the Virginia Tech goalkeeper from 10 yards out but hit the crossbar. Earlier, the Wolfpack had another opportunity in the 72nd minute, but a fierce shot from Jade Bordeleau went wide. Despite Virginia Tech's dominance in corner kicks (7-1), NC State's defense held firm to secure the draw.
