
NC State Women's Soccer Falls to No. 3 Wake Forest in Regular Season Finale

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – After a three-match unbeaten run, the NC State women's soccer team concluded its regular season with a 3-0 loss to No. 3 Wake Forest.
Wake Forest took an early lead as Nikayla Small scored in the first minute of the match. The Demon Deacons added two more goals in the second half, one from a penalty kick (48:29) and another from a header (79:00), sealing the final score at 3-0.
Freshman Sina Tölzel made her collegiate debut as the starting goalkeeper for the Wolfpack, playing the entire match and recording three saves in the first half and one in the second.
Freshman Mana Nakata had both shots on goal for NC State. Her first attempt came in the 20th minute but was saved by goalkeeper Valentina Amaral. Later, Nakata intercepted a Wake Forest goal kick, skillfully maneuvering around the defense to shoot toward the center of the net, but a duo of Demon Deacons combined for a team save.
The Wolfpack concluded its regular season with a 4-10-4 overall record and a 1-6-3 mark in conference play.
