Women’s Golf Heads to Cougar Classic for 2023-24 Opener

HANAHAN, S.C. — The NC State women's golf team is back in action on Sept. 11-12 as it plays in the season-opening Cougar Classic. The Wolfpack is one of 17 teams competing at the 2023-24 season opener set to take place at Yeamans Hall Club in Hanahan, S.C.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT/INFO
The 54-hole event begins Monday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Players are slated to get two rounds in that day, with the final round of the event slated for an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start on Tuesday.

PACK FACTS
- Head coach Page Marsh enters her 24th year leading a program that returns five of six players who competed at last season's NCAA Championships and welcomes the addition of three freshmen newcomers.
- NC State is coming off a historic 2022-23 season that ended with the program's fourth NCAA Championships berth of all time and its first since 2015. The Pack secured its best regional finish (second place) in program history on its home course and set a postseason program record with a team score of 282 in the first round of the NCAA Raleigh Regional.
- Last year, the Pack posted a pair of 18-hole program records (278, -10) and a 54-hole tournament record (847, -17) at the ICON Invitational during the regular season.
- Lauren Olivares Leon won the 2023 Briar's Creek Invitational in March, the first individual tournament victory for the Pack in five years.
