Wolfpack Move to Fourth After Two Rounds at NCAA Chapel Hill Regional

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The NC State women's golf team moved up two spots on the leaderboard at the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional in round two after carding a 4-over 284 Tuesday. After two rounds, the Wolfpack stands in fourth at 7-over 567 (283-284).
The top five teams advance to the NCAA Championship in Carlsbad, California. NC State has seven 7-shot cushion going into the final round.The Wolfpack will tee off hole 10 at 8 a.m. once again with Mississippi State and Virginia on Wednesday
Lindsay McGrath led the Pack on day two with career-low 1-under 69. She earned her first career round in the 60s, logging four birdies, 11 pars and three bogeys with a 33 on the front nine. She soared up 14 spots to sit in a tie for 24th with a 3-over 143 (74-69).
Marie Eline Madsen followed with an even-par 70 for her 24th round at par or better this season. She logged her second eagle of the season, off hole 15, with one birdie, 14 pars, one bogey and one double bogey. She is tied for eighth with a 1-under 139 (69-70). Madsen has the second best par 5s average (4.17).
Vania Simont shot a 1-over 71 on Tuesday. She registered three birdies, 11 pars and four bogeys. She is tied for 20th with a 2-over 142 (71-71).
Elizabeth Sullivan shot a 4-over 74 in the second round to round out the counting scores. She is at 10-over 150 (76-74) and is tied for 47th. Ellie Hildreth shot a 5-over 75 and is tied for 26th with a 4-over 144 (69-75).
NC State leads the field in par 5s at a 4.63 average and has the fourth most birdies in the field (32).
