#Pack9 Falls 9-7 to Clemson on Saturday

Clemson (24-16, 8-9 ACC) rallied from a 6-4 deficit after the sixth inning with a run in the seventh and a grand slam from Caden Grice in the top of the eighth. Grice's homer turned a 6-5 lead for NC State into a 9-6 Clemson advantage heading to the bottom of the eighth inning.
NC State (25-13, 8-11 ACC) erased an early 4-0 deficit with three runs in the fourth and sixth innings, respectively. Will Marcy led off the fourth inning with a solo home run before back-to-back RBI walks later in the inning trimmed the deficit to a single run at 4-3.
The Pack took its first lead when Jacob Cozart cleared the bases with a three-RBI triple off the wall in right center, scoring Chase Nixon, Noah Soles and LuJames Groover III to give NC State a 6-4 lead.
After Clemson regained the lead in the eighth, Cozart brought the Pack within two in the ninth with a solo home run on the first pitch of the bottom of the ninth inning. Cozart's homer helped him finish with a team-high four RBI and seven total bases.
Clemson relief pitcher Ryan Ammons responded after Cozart's solo shot, recording three straight outs to post his first save of the season. The Tigers' Reed Garris improved to 3-0 on the season, while Rio Britton fell to 2-2 on the year.
Soles made his return to the lineup in Saturday's game, going 1-for-2 with a career-high three walks and an RBI.
