Scouting Louisville
- The Cardinals lead the all-time series 11-10, but the Pack won the last meeting
- Louisville has beaten three opponents that were ranked at the time they played them this season -- Missouri, Duke, UCF
- Catcher Sarah Gordon ranks in the top 10 in hits (36), doubles (9), and batting average (.424)
- In overall conference rankings, the Cardinals check in at third in the ACC for record and team batting average (.315)
- The last two games for the Pack have come down to the bottom of the seventh
- Wednesday's meeting with Radford ended after a first pitch, walk off homer from Hannah Goodwin
- The final game in the BC series was a nail bitter as there were two outs when Madison Inscoe stepped into the box and singled up the middle to bring home the winning run
- The last close call game was Feb. 18 against Iowa when the two teams went into an extra inning
- The last series sweep was 708 days ago against Pitt (April 10-11, 2021)
- The last time the Wolfpack swept Boston College was during the 2013 season
- The last time the Pack secured a series win was over BC during the 2022 season
- NC State secured the first series win of the season after Saturday's meeting with the Eagles, but secured the sweep after Madison Inscoe singled up the middle in the bottom of the seventh with two out to bring the winning run home
- Freshman catcher Amanda Hasler can add pitch caller to her resume -- Coach Boland and Shaner said the freshman knows the pitchers better than anyone, she's a nerd of the game
- The freshman called the pitches for all three games against Notre Dame and is only the second catcher to do so in program history (Alyssa Allbritten, '08-'11)
- She leads the team in RBI's (18), home runs (6), and putouts (99)
- She ranks first in program history for hit by pitch in a freshman campaign (9)
- The Wolfpack's 19 runs scored in game one against NC Central was the third most runs scored in program history
- The 19 runs scored was one short of tying the second most scored in program history
- After recording five stolen bases, three coming from Ellie Goins, the Pack tied the third most in program history in a single game
- Amanda Hasler tallies nine hit by pitch walks this season, the most for an athlete in program history during their freshman campaign
- Freshman outfielder Bailey Edwards recorded her first collegiate home run in game one against NC Central on March 8
- As she was rounding third base to tag home, the freshman pointed up at the sky -- those who know her know she was thinking of her mom who she lost in early 2022
- Post game, the freshman said her mom was the first person she thought of when she saw the ball go over the fence
- The Wolfpack saw a different lineup against NC Central --catcher and outfield were the only positions that were occupied by a familiar face
- Coaches Boland and Shaner wanted to see how things went with different people in different places
- Most notably, senior Libby Whittaker totaled eight on the evening and six in game two alone
- The Pack's four home runs in game one was also a season record -- all scored by different people as well
- Freshman Ellie Goins totaled a season high four stolen bases on the day (3/8/23) -- her three in game one was the most by someone on the team this season
- In five days, the Pack went from totaling seven home runs on the season to 32
- Kaltyn Pavlick and Amanda Hasler lead the team with six
- Freshman Amanda Hasler and MaKayla Marbury each have a grand slam on their resume through the first 15 games of the season
- Fellow freshman Nadia Sykes recorded her first homer, a grand slam, against NCCU on March 8
- Marbury hit the teams first pinch hit homer of the season against Radford -- Libby Whittaker did it last season
- Freshman pitcher Madison Inscoe currently records six wins in the circle this season -- the most by a Pack pitcher this season
- In the circle, she pitched eight consecutive no-hit innings (last four of game two against Iowa and first four in game two versus Purdue) and recorded five strikeouts in 24 hours
- During the ACC/B1G Ten Challenge she started two games at first base, where she recorded 12 putouts with one assist
- At the plate, Inscoe tallies 13 hits and two homers, while recording nine RBI's
- Against Penn, the freshman recorded a career high seven strikeouts
