Nine Softball Student-Athletes Earn Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete Honors

RALEIGH, N.C. – Nine members of the NC State softball program earned Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors, as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).
2026 marks the seventh season that the Pack has landed at least two student-athletes on the list, with the nine marking the second most in a season.
Morgen Talley, Kendall Simmers, Carly Short, Kayla Fekel, Kadie Becker, Teagan Thrunk, Hannah Church, Kendall Weik and Charli Orsini all received the recognition this season.
The honor marks the fourth career award for Thrunk, the third for Church and the second for both Becker and Simmers.
The award recognizes student-athletes from NFCA member institutions who maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher. The NFCA will release its full list of individual Scholar-Athletes and Top 10 academic teams in each division this fall.
At the plate, the five Wolfpack hitters combined to account for 65 percent of the team's home runs (34 of 52), 55 percent of its RBIs (143 of 258), 48 percent of its hits (187 of 388) and 47 percent of its runs scored (132 of 283).
In the circle, the five pitchers recorded 51 percent of the staff's strikeouts (130 of 253), 48 percent of the team's wins (13 of 27) and 45 percent of the innings pitched (151.2 of 335.0) during the 2025 season.
