Morgen Talley Garners All-Region Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Freshman utility player Morgen Talley earned a spot on the East Region National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Second Team All-Region, as announced by the organization Thursday afternoon.
Talley becomes just the third freshman in program history to earn All-Region honors, joining Allison Presnell (2007) and Alyssa Allbritten (2008). She is also just the fourth two-way player in program history to receive All-Region recognition, joining Wolfpack standouts Shania Ervin (2005), Abbie Sims (2005, 06, 07) and Emily Weiman (2013, 14).
Throughout her rookie campaign, Talley was recognized by multiple outlets as one of the nation's top two-way players.
She put together an impressive freshman season, finishing with a .321 batting average, .616 slugging percentage, 51 hits, 41 RBI, 33 runs scored, 13 home runs and eight doubles. In the circle, Talley led the team with 110.2 innings pitched and 13 wins while recording 101 strikeouts.
The Palm Harbor, Fla., native also earned ACC All-Freshman Team honors earlier this month.
