
Brockman, Murray Advance on First Day of NCAA East Regionals

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The NC State men's track & field team opened competition at the NCAA East Regional on Wednesday, competing in five events.
DISTANCE
Gavin Gaynor was the first distance competitor of the day for NC State, competing in the men's 1500m first round. The Hudson, Ohio, native ran a 3:51.31 to place 40th.
Robinson Snider laced up for the Pack in the men's 10000m, running a 29:25.47 for 13th place.
JUMPS
A trio of Wolfpack jumpers competed in the men's long jump, led by Cameron Murray's 16th-place finish with his mark of 7.43m (24' 4.5"). Jamar Davis jumped 7.23m (23' 8.75") to place 30th while Von Douglas finished in 36th with a 7.17m (23' 6.25")Â
SPRINTS
Both of the Pack's hurdlers qualified to the event quarterfinals that will be held Friday, May 27. Joshua Brockman won his heat to automatically advance to the next round, running a 13.64 that was a personal best and replaced his own second-fastest program mark.
Cameron Murray qualified to the quarterfinals as well, clocking a 13.77 for the fourth-quickest mark in his heat.
THROWS
Andrew Haberman rounded out the Friday group of competitors, throwing for 58.38m (191' 6") in the men's hammer throw to place 39th.
