RALEIGH – No. 3 Wolfpack women's tennis kicked off its final weekend of the regular season with a victory, taking care of business 7-0 against Louisville on Friday afternoon.
With one regular-season match remaining, NC State improves to 21-4 overall and 9-3 in ACC action. The Pack's 21 wins this season continue to rank as the second most in a single campaign in program history.
NC State won its eighth-straight doubles point in quick fashion. Priska Nugroho and Sophie Abrams blanked their opponents on court three, and third-ranked Jaeda Daniel and Nell Miller finished the job with a 6-1 win on the top court.
The Wolfpack continued its dominant play in singles, where it went up a set on five courts. Miller was the first member of the team to finish her singles match, winning 6-1, 6-1 on court five. From there, it took only a matter of minutes for NC State to clinch.
Amelia Rajecki cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 win on four and 11th-ranked Daniel got the deciding point for the Pack with a 6-1 6-1 match on one. The remaining three matches went into super tiebreakers for the third sets, with Nugroho, Abrams and Rencheli each getting wins to secure the sweep.
NC State makes the quick turnaround to play its final match of the 2022 regular season at home on Saturday. The Wolfpack hosts Notre Dame, with first serve set for 12 p.m. from the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center. It is the team's Senior Day match, and NC State will honor the career of graduate Jaeda Daniel ahead of first serve.
