
#Pack9 Travels To East Carolina Tuesday

RALEIGH – No. 22 NC State baseball (15-8) will make the trip to Greenville, N.C., Tuesday for its midweek contest with East Carolina (14-11) in the first of two meetings between the teams this season.
Due to expected cold temperatures Tuesday night, first pitch has been moved up to 4:30 p.m. at Clark-LeClair Stadium. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ and there will additionally be an audio stream on WKNC 88.1 and the Varsity Network App.

RHP Garrett Payne (NCSU) vs. LHP CJ Mayhue (ECU)
LAST TIME OUT
NC State hosted then-No. 12 Georgia Tech in Raleigh for a three-game series last weekend, and earned 8-6, 6-5 and 6-1 wins to sweep the Yellow Jackets. It marked the Wolfpack's first series sweep over a ranked opponent since May 14-16, 2021, at No. 16 Pittsburgh.
The Pack is on a four-game win streak and has won five of its last six games. It has also now won six of the last seven series meetings with Tech.

Tuesday will be the 113th meeting between the Wolfpack and Pirates, as NC State leads the all-time series, 68-48.
The teams last met on June 2, 2019, in the NCAA Greenville Regional, and East Carolina earned a 9-2 win to advance to the regional final.

NC State's bullpen of Logan Adams, Justin Lawson, Carson Kelly, Baker Nelson, Garrett Payne, Canaan Silver and Chris Villaman last weekend was phenomenal against Georgia Tech, as it allowed just one earned run and did not allow a walk in 13 innings of work. They additionally combined for 20 strikeouts.

Freshmen Payton Green and Tommy White combined for nine runs batted in last weekend in the Pack's series against Georgia Tech. In the finale, they each hit a home run in the eighth inning to add insurance runs and help complete the series sweep.
They have both started all 23 games this season and lead the team with 38 and 25 RBIs, respectively. White ranks second in the NCAA in home runs and is one away from tying the NC State freshman record for most homers in a season, while all four of Green's long balls have come within the last seven games.
