#Pack9 Opens ACC Play This Weekend Against Notre Dame

RALEIGH – No. 17 NC State baseball (9-4) is set to open up Atlantic Coast Conference play this weekend with a top 20 matchup as it welcomes No. 3 Notre Dame (9-1) to Doak Field at Dail Park for a three-game series.
The teams will play at 6 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. Friday's game will be broadcast on the ACC Network while the other two will be on ACCNX. All three games will have an audio stream on WKNC 88.1 and the Varsity Network App.

Friday – RHP Sam Highfill (NCSU) vs. LHP Aidan Tyrell (ND)
Saturday – RHP Matt Willadsen (NCSU) vs. LHP John Michael Bertrand (ND)

SERIES HISTORY
Friday will be the 24th meeting between the Wolfpack and Fighting Irish, as NC State leads the all-time series, 13-10. The teams last met on April 16-18, 2021, in South Bend, Ind., and Notre Dame took two of three. The Irish won the opener, 3-2, and then after the Pack evened the series with a 5-2 win in game two, Notre Dame earned an 11-2 win in the rubber game to take the series.
The last time the teams met in Raleigh was on April 13-14, 2018, and NC State managed to take the series, outscoring the Irish, 25-7, in the final two games after suffering a 12-8 loss in game one.
NC State has won the last three series meetings in Raleigh, dating back to 2014.
LAST TIME OUT
NC State snapped a four-game loss streak on Tuesday with a 13-5 win at UNCG. The squad tallied 17 hits en route to its victory, as five different players turned in multi-hit performances.
The bullpen of Canaan Silver, Garrett Payne, Logan Whitaker and Chris Villaman was phenomenal in the contest, combining to allow just one earned run on eight hits and two walks while fanning 10 batters.
A FAMILY AFFAIR
This weekend will be a family affair for J.T. Jarrett as his dad, Link Jarrett, is the head coach for the Fighting Irish.
This will be the second time that the father and son duo will be facing each other in their respective careers.
