Â
Despite finding itself behind early on in game one, the Wolfpack managed to overcome a six-run deficit and walk it off in the 10th inning, 12-10. In game two the Pack jumped out to an eight-run lead and never looked back, earning a 16-4 (7 inn.) victory.
Â
The sweep marked the 19th consecutive nonconference win for the Pack, dating back to the 2012 season.

Game One Recap
The Bobcats got on the board in the first inning with four runs on as many hits, marking the first time this season the Pack has allowed its opponent to score first. With the bases loaded Sam LaChance drove in the first run with a groundout to Payton Green at shortstop, and then Danny Melnick's 2-RBI double to left field made it 3-0.
Â
Melnick then scored from third on a wild pitch to extend the lead to four.
Â
In the fourth Quinnipiac extended its lead to 6-0 with a pair of runs on three hits. Anthony Donofrio's two-out RBI double to left field following a leadoff single and walk plated the first run, and then a squeeze play by Kyle Maves with runners in scoring position pushed the other run across.
Â
Josh Hood put the Pack on the board in the bottom frame with his first home run of the year to left field, and then in the fifth Tommy White belted his eighth home run of the season to right center after Noah Soles led off the side with a single to left field to make it 6-3.
Â
LaChance gave the Bobcats a four-run lead with his leadoff homer to left center in the seventh, and then a bases-loaded walk followed by Julian Uejima's RBI single to left field with the bases still loaded made it 9-3.
Â
NC State answered in the bottom half to cut the deficit to 9-5 when Devonte Brown and Dominic Pilolli scored on a Bobcat error after both drawing walks.
Â
In the eighth Michael Kohn drove in LaChance from first with a double to right field to make it a five-run game. However, the Wolfpack quickly bounced back in the bottom half tying things up with five runs of its own. The rally started with LuJames Groover III's 2-RBI double down the left field line after Will Marcy and Chase Nixon started the side with a walk followed and single, respectively.
Â
After Brown reached on an error, White drove in a pair of runs with his double down the left field line. After advancing to third on a wild pitch White scored on a Bobcat error to tie things up at 10-10.
Â
Nine consecutive outs were recorded in the ninth inning and top half of the tenth frame, with Green breaking the ice in extra innings for the Wolfpack with a leadoff single to left field. Groover then drove a 2-1 pitch over the left field wall to clinch the series for the Wolfpack with a 12-10 win in walk off fashion.
Â
Chris Villaman (1-0) picked up his first win of the season by pitching a perfect ninth and tenth inning with four strikeouts, while White (3-for-5, 4 RBI) Nixon (3-for-4) and Groover (2-for-3, 4 RBI) led the offense.

Game Two Recap
NC State carried its momentum from the walk off win into the nightcap. The Pack plated one run in the first inning on a wild pitch, then proceeded to score seven runs in the second inning to go ahead 8-0, highlighted by an RBI double from Brown.
Â
The Wolfpack added four runs in both the fourth and fifth innings, with White hitting his ninth home run of the season in the fourth on a three-run shot. White continued his effort in the batter's box in the fifth with an RBI single, followed by run-scoring singles from Hood and Pilolli.
Â
Quinnipiac got on the board in the top of the fifth inning on a solo home run by Sean Swenson, followed by a two-RBI single by Sebastian Mueller to trim the NC State lead to 16-3.
Â
The Bobcats added to their scoring effort on a solo home run in the top of the seventh, with Donofrio scoring Quinnipiac's fourth run, the final of the contest as the game was deemed final after the top half of the seventh inning with the Wolfpack securing a 16-4 victory.
Â
David Harrison (2-0) earned the win for NC State, striking out six and allowing three runs through 5.2 innings pitched. Brown, White, Groover, Hood and Marcy tallied two hits apiece in the team's combined 11 hits, while White led the squad with four more RBIs.
Â
NC State will be in action next on March 2 when it makes its first road trip of the season to Buies Creek, N.C., to face Campbell in a midweek contest. First pitch is set for 5 p.m. at Jim Perry Stadium.
