Gymnastics Set for EAGL Showdown in Reynolds

RALEIGH - The NC State gymnastics team is set to continue its season Saturday, Feb. 19 at 4 p.m. as it welcomes North Carolina to Reynolds Coliseum for a meet between the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL)'s top two teams.
Fans are permitted to attend all home matches in the 2022 season and are required to wear masks for indoor competitions per NC State's University Community Standards.

LAST TIME OUT
The Wolfpack posted its highest score of the season with a 196.725, earning a 49.000 or higher on three of the four events. Five members of the team earned individual titles, highlighted by Alexis Ortega earning an individual title on all three events in which she competed.
Ortega additionally posted two career highs at the meet, garnering EAGL Specialist of the Week for the impressive outing.
SCOUTING THE TAR HEELS
North Carolina currently sits at the top of EAGL with an average score of 195.554. The team is the top-ranked conference squad on bars, averaging a 48.821.
Tar Heels athletes rank in the top five in the league on vault, bars and all-around. Lali Dekanoidze ranks third on vault and first on bars and all-around while Julia Knower is fifth in all-around. Dekanoidze is the most recent recipient of EAGL Gymnast of the Week while Knower garnered the most recent EAGL Rookie of the Week honor.
