Women’s Soccer To Host Elon Sunday For Senior Night

RALEIGH – After getting back into the win column with a quality win on the road, NC State women's soccer (2-1-2) will return home Sunday to host Elon at Dail Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m., and the match will be broadcast on the ACC Network Extra.
The program's senior class of Denae Antoine, Jenna Butler, Sandra Geiselhart, Lulu Guttenberger, Margot Ridgeway, Toni Starova and Mia Thillet will be honored prior to the start of the match.
FREE ADMISSION
Beginning in 2021, NC State women's soccer games are free of charge. Gates will open one hour prior to the start of each match. As NC State works toward a more normal on-campus experience, NC State Athletics will continue abiding by the current policies for campus as outlined in the University Community Standards.
LAST TIME OUT
The Pack picked up a dominant 3-0 win over UNCG (1-2-2) on Thursday evening in Greensboro, N.C. It was the Wolfpack's first shutout win of the season and the most goals scored this year in a single match.
The squad put together a complete performance on the field, as eight of its 12 shots were on goal, and it did not allow the Spartans to have a scoring opportunity throughout the 90 minutes.
Annika Wohner, Brianna Weber and Jameese Joseph were the team's goal scorers, as Weber recorded her first career tally while Joseph scored her fourth in five matches.
SERIES HISTORY
Sunday will be the 15th meeting between NC State and Elon, as the Pack is undefeated in the all-time series with a 14-0-0 ledger.
In the series history, NC State has outscored Elon, 42-5, and has recorded shutout wins in nine of those contests. The last time the squads met was on September 4, 2017, in Elon, N.C., and the Pack earned a 5-0 win with five different goal scorers.
The Phoenix won its first-ever Colonial Athletic Association Championship in the spring to earn its second automatic bid in program history into the NCAA Tournament.
CANNOT BE STOPPED
Joseph, the Pack's leading goal scorer, has tallied four goals in five matches, and her first three all came within the first 10 minutes of the contest. She is currently tied for sixth among the Atlantic Coast Conference in goals scored and goals per game (.80).
Additionally, the striker is tied for 10th in the league with eight points in the early season.
ROAD WARRIORS
NC State currently owns a 2-0-2 ledger away from home and has scored a combined eight goals on the road, including two or more on three of those occasions.
