
Pack Sweeps Wofford in Home Opener

RALEIGH – NC State volleyball opened its home slate with a dominant 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-12) victory over Wofford on Friday night inside of Reynolds Coliseum.
The Pack (1-3) never trailed in the match and held the Terriers (2-3) to a .091 hitting percentage to earn its first victory of the season.
Leading the offensive charge for NC State was senior Jade Parchment and junior Taylor Rowland who each tallied a match-high 13 kills while hitting .478 and .360 respectively. Rowland also tallied five digs and the match-winning service ace.
Sophomore Riley Shaak also had an outstanding offensive performance as she racked up seven kills for an errorless percentage of .700. Junior Kristen McDaniel recorded a match-high 35 assists while graduate student Kaylee Frazier secured a game-best 11 digs as the libero.
Set One (NC State 25, Wofford 17)
The Pack controlled all the momentum from the beginning as NC State took a 3-1 lead and never looked back. The Wolfpack only allowed seven kills while forcing seven Wofford errors. All six Wolfpack players who took an attack attempt registered a kill as the team totaled 18 kills for a .378 hitting percentage in the set.
Set Two (NC State 25, Wofford 20)
The second set was a battle to start as the Terriers was able to keep the score close and tie things at six-all. NC State followed with a 4-0 run that gave the team enough momentum to hold on for the 2-0 lead. The Pack nearly could not be stopped on offense as the team posted a .500 hitting percentage with 16 kills and only tallying one error. Parchment led the way hitting .667 with six kills in nine attempts.
Set Three (NC State 25, Wofford 12)
The Pack came out hot in the third set, jumping out to a quick 6-1 lead forcing Wofford to call an early timeout. Later in the set at 15-10, NC State reeled off an 8-0 run to take a commanding 23-10 lead before Rowland shut the door with an ace for the match win. Rowland registered seven kills on 12 swings for a .500 hitting percentage in the set.

NC State welcomes ECU and Colorado State to Reynolds on Saturday. Both games will be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra with the East Carolina game set for noon and first serve against Colorado State slated for 7 p.m.
