Henes Sets Top-10 Time in NCAA Outdoor History at West Coast Relays

RALEIGH - The NC State track & field teams saw successful competition at the West Coast Relays over the weekend that was highlighted by a top-10 collegiate time and multiple top-10 program marks.
DISTANCE
Savannah Shaw kicked off what was a big evening for the NC State women's distance runners, competing in the 1500m and setting a personal record of 4:17.46. Her mark was good for sixth-best in NC State history.
In the women's 1500m invitational, Katelyn Tuohy ran a 4:14.56 that was the fastest 1500m time by a member of the Wolfpack in the 2021 season. The time was a personal best and ranks second in program history.
Hannah Steelman recorded a second-place finish in the women's 3000m steeplechase, running a 9:48.38
The biggest result of the night came in the women's 5000m invitational as Elly Henes posted a time of 15:18.75 that ranks 10th in NCAA outdoor collegiate history. The time was a PR and bested the school record by over 12 seconds.
Dominique Clairmonte recorded a personal-best mark in the 5000m invitational as well with her time of 15:47.60.Â
At the Virginia Challenge, Nate Kawalec ran a personal-best 14:18.42 in the men's 5000m.
