#Pack9’s Comeback Falls Short, Wake Forest Evens Series

With the result, the Demon Deacons snapped the Wolfpack's five-game win streak to even the series and force a rubber match Sunday.
An RBI fielder's choice in the first inning followed by a pair of 2-RBI doubles and a three-run home run in the second gave Wake a commanding 8-0 lead early on.
Jose Torres cut into the Pack's deficit with his two-run home run to left field to make it 8-2. It was the fourth time this season he has left the park.
In the fifth, Wake tacked on a run thanks to Michael Ludowig's sacrifice fly to left field.
The Pack managed to score five runs in the sixth on a bases-loaded passed ball and Devonte Brown's first career grand slam, and then cut its deficit to 9-8 in the seventh when Jonny Butler scored on Brown's RBI groundout to first.
Wake pushed five runs across in the eighth on a two-run error, bases-loaded walk and 2-RBI single en route to its win, but not before the Pack made its second attempted comeback of the game.
In the ninth Austin Murr drew a bases-loaded walk and Tyler McDonough delivered with a two-run single on two outs, but the comeback fell short as a strikeout ended the game.
