Charleston Sets Meet, Facility Records on Final Day of Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH - The NC State track & field teams finished its first meet of the 2021 outdoor season on Saturday, claiming multiple podium finishes at the Raleigh Relays.
RELAYS
NC State began the day with a top-10 program mark as Ally Henson, Akira Rhodes, Imunique Archie and Mia D'Ambrosio ran a 46.24 that ranks ninth in NC State history.
The Wolfpack men clocked the third-fastest time in the country in the men's 4x100m, the team of Alan Alvarez, Von Douglas, Junpai Dowdy and Cravont Charleston posting a 39.66 to take first place.
Alexis Postell, D'Ambrosio, Archie and Brandi Hughes closed out the meet with the 10th-best women's 4x400m time in program history with a 3:49.23.
DISTANCE
Anna Vess began the distance competition for the Wolfpack, posting a personal-best 2:13.09 in the women's 800m.
Sarah LaTour clocked the third-fastest program time in the women's 3000m steeplechase, posting a third-place finish with a 10:04.64 mark. Her time is third-quickest in the NCAA.
SPRINTS
Rhodes competed in the final of the women's 100m hurdles, posting a PR of 13.30 that is the fourth-best time in NC State history and the ninnth-best in the country.
Cameron Murray tabbed a second-place finish in the men's 110m hurdles final, posting a 13.78 in event. His mark is the fifth-fastest in program history and is the seventh-best time in the nation.
In the men's 100m final, Charleston ran a 10.10 that set a slew of records. The mark was his personal best and additionally set new meet and facility records. His time is second-fastest in the country and second-fastest in NC State history.
D'Ambrosio wrote her name in the record book in the women's 200m, running a 24.56 that was the ninth-fastest mark in NC State history.
Charleston followed up his 100m records with a 200m performance that also improved the meet and facility records. His time of 20.37 is fastest in the NCAA and is good for the fifth-best mark in the Wolfpack record book.
JUMPS
Douglas posted a gold medal-winning performance in the long jump, recording a 7.53m (24'8.5") that is the 10th-best mark in the country. Murray also participated in the event and took third place with his jump of 7.22m (23'8.25").

NC State makes the trip to Charlottesville, Va., to compete in the UVA Invite April 2-3.
