Elly Henes Tabbed as ACC Indoor Track Performer of the Year

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Redshirt senior Elly Henes has been named the ACC Indoor Women's Track Performer of the Year, as announced by the conference office on Thursday.
Henes' best performance of the season came at the 2021 ACC Indoor Championships where she posted a 9:00.53 in the women's 3000m that was a personal record, a school record, a facility record and a meet record. She competed in the event at the 2021 NCAA Championships as well, tabbing Second Team All-American honors.
The Cary, N.C., native additionally competed in the 5000m at the NCAA Championships, running a 15:49.86 that earned her third place and First Team All-American status.
Henes' other record-setting performance came alongside three of her teammates as the distance medley relay (DMR) squad of Sam Bush, Henes, Alexis Postell and Anna Vess set a school record in the event with a time of 11:07.64 at the ACC Championships. Henes ran the 1600m leg with a 4:33.80 split.
