Gymnastics Returns to Reynolds for Quad-Meet

RALEIGH - The NC State gymnastics team returns to Raleigh Saturday, Feb. 6 at 4 p.m. to host a quad-meet with Pittsburgh, North Carolina and Towson. The meet is the Wolfpack's first home competition since its season opener on Jan. 15 and is the team's annual Pink Meet.

NC State recorded its highest score of the season on Jan. 31 in a tri-meet at Pittsburgh with Towson, posting a 195.425.
The Wolfpack surpassed the 49.000 mark on two events, vault (49.025) and bars (49.050), that each were season-high marks.
Sophomore Chloe Negrete earned her first East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Specialist of the Week honors on Feb. 2 after an impressive outing at the meet. The Frisco, Texas, native tabbed a 9.850 on vault for a third-place finish, a 9.875 on beam and a 9.900 on floor. Her scores on beam and floor earned her individual titles in the events.
Junior Meredith Robinson was part of a three-way tie for first place on bars with a 9.875 while sophomore Emily Shepard earned a share of the vault individual title with a 9.900.Â
SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
Saturday's quad-meet will mark the third time NC State has competed against Pittsburgh in 2021.Â
The Panthers were the top-scoring team at the Jan. 31 tri-meet, posting a season-best 195.700. Katrina Coca was part of a tie for first place on bars with a 9.875 while four other members of the Panthers earned podium finishes at the meet.
SCOUTING THE TAR HEELS
North Carolina has competed once in the 2021 season, posting a 195.200 in a dual meet at New Hampshire. Sophomore Elizabeth Culton took home individual titles on bars (9.875) and beam (9.950) at the meet and was named EAGL Specialist of the Week on Jan. 26.Â
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
The upcoming quad-meet will be the third consecutive meet in which NC State has faced off against Towson. The Tigers posted their best score of the season in the Jan. 31 tri-meet (194.475). Sophomore Lauren Bolen was named EAGL Gymnast of the Week on Feb. 2 after earning the all-around individual title on Jan. 31. Bolen additionally was part of a tie for first place on vault with a 9.900.
