
Henes Sets Meet, Facility and School Records on Final Day of ACC Indoor Championships

CLEMSON, S.C. - The NC State track & field teams concluded competition at the 2021 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Indoor Track & Field Championships, posting several podium finishes led by Elly Henes' ACC title in the women's 3000m.
The 14th-ranked Wolfpack women concluded the meet in eighth place with 43 points while the men finished tied for 11th place after collecting 25 points.
JUMPS
Chris Alexander posted a third-place finish in the men's triple jump, earning First Team All-ACC honors. His jump checked in at 51'5.75" (15.69m).
In the women's triple jump, Michelle Cobb took home third place and First Team All-ACC laurels with a mark of 42'10.75" (13.07m).
SPRINTS
In the men's 60m hurdles, Joshua Brockman posted a personal-best 7.81 that was the second-best mark in NC State history. He earned the third-place finish as well as First Team All-ACC honors. Cameron Murray took fifth place in the event, posting a 7.91 for Second Team All-ACC.
Akira Rhodes earned fourth place in the women's 60m hurdles, improving her personal best for the second straight day with a 8.24. Rhodes received Second Team All-ACC laurels for her performance.Â
DISTANCE
Anna Vess claimed the first podium finish of the day for the Wolfpack, running a PR of 4:44.22 and finishing in third place with First Team All-ACC honors in the women's mile. Sarah LaTour tabbed a sixth-place finish with a personal-best mark of 4:46.95, good for Second Team All-ACC laurels in the event.
Henes earned the second women's 3000m ACC title of her career, running a blistering 9:00.53 that was personal record, a school record, a facility record and a meet record. The graduate student was the ACC Champion in the 3000m, earning First Team All-ACC status in the event for the third time in her career.Â
Also earning All-ACC status in the women's 3000m was Savannah Shaw, who ran a 9:16.65 that was good for a sixth-place finish and Second Team All-ACC.
In the men's 3000m, Ian Harrison posted a personal-best 8:10.23.
