Wolfpack Suffers 8-3 Loss To Yellow Jackets, Drops Series

RALEIGH – No. 8 NC State baseball (2-3, 0-2 ACC) suffered an 8-3 loss in the second game of its series with 15th-ranked Georgia Tech (5-1, 2-0 ACC) on Saturday afternoon at Doak Field at Dail Park.
The win allowed the Yellow Jackets to clinch the series, as the Wolfpack dropped its third-straight game of the season.
Georgia Tech took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on three hits, but a combined three home runs by Austin Murr and Luca Tresh gave the Pack its first lead of the series through four complete. The Jackets managed to knot the score at three in the sixth, then plated five runs on back-to-back-to-back home runs in the seventh to take back the lead. In the final three innings, only two Wolfpack batters were able to reach base.

- Butler has reached base safely in 24 of his last 25 games, dating back to the 2019 season.
- McDonough extended his reached base streak to 22 games, which dates back to last year.
- Tresh has tallied at least one hit in his last 10 games, dating back to the 2020 season.
