Eighth-Ranked #Pack9 Drops ACC Opener To No. 15 Georgia Tech

RALEGH – No. 8 NC State Baseball (2-2, 0-1 ACC) dropped its ACC opener to No. 15 Georgia Tech (4-1, 1-0 ACC), 9-2, on Saturday afternoon. The game was suspended on Friday evening in the ninth inning due to inclement weather, and resumed on Saturday at 2 p.m. ahead of game two.
In a matchup between the Atlantic Coast Conference's top two offenses, the Wolfpack was limited to just five hits while the Yellow Jackets tallied 11 in the contest. Tech jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning, and despite the Pack putting up a run in the bottom frame, a two-run fourth and another three-run inning in the seventh put NC State in a deficit that it was unable to overcome.
