All 10 Starters Ranked in First NCAA Coaches’ Panel Rankings

RALEIGH, N.C. – All 10 starters on the NC State Wrestling team were ranked in the first NCAA Coaches' Panel Rankings of the season. Seven members of the Pack were ranked in the top-10 of their respective weight class, with three in the top-5, including R-Sr. Hayden Hidlay being the top-ranked wrestler at 157 pounds.

In addition to the Coaches' Panel Rankings, the NCAA has announced the pre-allocations for the 2021 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships.

The weight class conference champion in each qualifying tournament will earn an automatic qualifier to the national championships. Each conference was awarded additional pre-allocations based on the five-year average (2016-20) of pre-allocations earned by the conference in each weight class.

In addition, there are six at-large bids per weight class.

The ACC received 33 allocations among its 10 weight classes.

After the conference tournaments have concluded, the Division I Wrestling Committee will meet in-person to select the remaining at-large qualifiers to fill out the 33-man bracket in each weight class, which will be announced March 9, while brackets and seeding will be announced on ncaa.com at 6 p.m. March 10.
