RALEIGH, N.C. – The #4 NC State Wrestling team will be in home action for the first time this season, as the Wolfpack will host App State Friday night in Reynolds Coliseum. While no tickets will be sold to the dual, fans can watch on ACC Network Extra starting at 7 p.m.

• For the second straight week to start the season, NC State sits at #4 in the preseason NWCA Coaches Poll. Dating back over the last six seasons, the Pack has been ranked in the top-10 in 75 straight polls.
• After posting the first-ever undefeated dual season in school history last year (15-0), the Pack currently owns the nation's longest dual winning streak (18).
• Over the previous six seasons, NC State has won 83 of its 91 duals (91.2%) overall. That winning percentage sits second-best in the NCAA over the last six seasons, and the 83 duals victories lead the nation (next highest is Missouri at 75).
• NC State has won back-to-back ACC Championships (2019, 2020) and three straight ACC Dual Championships (2018, 2019, 2020).

ROAD TO #200
With a win Friday night, NC State head coach Pat Popolizio will collect his 200th career win as a head coach. Popolizio is 118-27 in his nine seasons at NC State, and previously was 81-53-2 in six seasons as the head coach at Binghamton.

MISSING IN ACTION
For the second straight weekend, NC State will be without the services of R-So. Trent Hidlay. The fourth ranked wrestler at 184 pounds recently underwent an appendectomy and is aiming to be back for ACC action.

#7 R-Sr. Thomas Bullard (165) missed the dual at Gardner-Webb last weekend, but is expected to make his season debut against App State.

125: #7 Jakob Camacho vs. Codi Russell
The defending ACC Champion at 125 pounds, Camacho nearly got a tech fall last weekend, scoring a 21-8 major decision at Gardner-Webb. Russell started his collegiate career at NC State, redshirting in 2017 before transferring. He is a two-time NCAA Qualifier at 133 pounds, and this is his first season at 125. He is ranked #23 by FloWrestling and went 3-0 last weekend (outscored his foes 46-8).

149: Ed Scott vs. #10 Jonathan Millner
Scott made his season debut last weekend, and scored a second period fall (he was leading 14-1 at the time). Scott was a top-50 recruit overall, and second in his weight class (152). Millner is a Greensboro native, and comes in ranked #10 by InterMat. He was the 2020 SoCon conference champion and seeded 18th for the NCAA Championships last season, going 31-4. He will be making his season debut.

174: #10 Daniel Bullard vs. #17 Thomas Flitz
Bullard opened the season with a major decision last weekend, and moved into the top-10 in InterMat's rankings this week. Flitz is ranked #17 by InterMat, and was an NCAA Qualifier last season going 30-11. These two met three times last season, Bullard going 2-1. The biggest score difference was only three points, as each bout came down to the third period.
