
#4 @PackWrestle Shuts Out Gardner-Webb to Open Season

NC State wins all 10 bouts, seven for bonus points
BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The #4 NC State Wrestling team opens its season in style, as the Wolfpack traveled to Gardner-Webb and shutout the Runnin' Bulldogs 42-0.
NC State won all 10 bouts on the day, and seven of those wins were for bonus points.
Fr. Ed Scott (149 pounds) and #2 R-Sr. Hayden Hidlay (157) both scored pins. Scott ended his bout early in the second period at the 3:25 mark, and Hidlay needed just 53 seconds to score the fall.
#10 R-Sr. Tariq Wilson (141) also ended his bout in the second period with a 17-2 tech fall.
#7 R-So. Jakob Camacho (125), #16 R-So. Jarrett Trombley (133), #11 R-Sr. Daniel Bullard (13-3) and R-Sr. Nick Reenan all recorded major decisions.
NC State has now won 18 straight duals dating back to the 2018-19 season, currently the nation's longest winning streak.
Up Next: The Pack will hosts its first home dual of the season next weekend, as Appalachian State will visit Reynolds Coliseum Friday night. The dual will start at 7 p.m. and be stream on ACC Network Extra.
