
#Pack9 Welcomes Charlotte, North Carolina A&T For Pair Of Midweek Games

RALEIGH – No. 9 NC State baseball (13-2) will host a pair of midweek games Tuesday and Wednesday when it welcomes Charlotte (8-8) and North Carolina A&T (7-8), respectively, to Doak Field at Dail Park. Both games are set for a 6 p.m. first pitch and will be broadcast on the ACC Network Extra.
There will additionally be a free audio stream on WKNC 88.1 FM.

Tuesday – RHP Matt Willadsen (NCSU) vs. RHP Patrick Szczypinski (Charlotte)
Wednesday – RHP Austin Pace (NCSU) vs. RHP Evan Gates (NC A&T)
SERIES HISTORY
Tuesday will be the 40th meeting between NC State and Charlotte, as the Pack leads the all-time series, 30-9. The teams last met on March 12, 2019 at BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte, N.C., and the Pack rallied late for a 6-5 win over the 49ers.
NC State and Charlotte are slated to meet once more in the 2020 season, as they will play a game March 24 at BB&T Ballpark.
Wednesday will be the 21st meeting in the all-time series between the Pack and Aggies, as NC State has won all 20 contests between the squads. Last year, NC State traveled to First National Bank Field in Greensboro, N.C. for a midweek matchup, and won 12-3.
LAST TIME OUT
NC State opened ACC play at No. 23 Virginia last weekend, and went 1-2 in the series. The Pack suffered its first loss of the season in game one, 7-3, but behind three home runs late in the game combined with strong pitching from Nick Swiney on Saturday, the Pack earned a 6-2 win to even the series.
Despite scoring first on Sunday, the Pack couldn't overcome a six-run second inning by the Cavaliers and dropped the rubber game, 10-3.
DOUBLE TROUBLE
NC State has turned 21 double plays this season, and that number ranks first in the NCAA. The team is additionally averaging 1.40 double plays per game, which is the most in the ACC and third-most in the nation.
SCOUTING CHARLOTTE
-The 49ers have been dealt four consecutive losses after dropping a midweek with Coastal Carolina, 15-6, and suffering a series sweep to East Carolina last weekend.
-Colby Bruce was named to the Conference USA Preseason Team, and earned a spot on the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Preseason Watch List.
