
Two From Women’s Golf Tied For 16th After First Round of Lady Puerto Rico Classic

RIO MAR, Puerto Rico – Inja Fric and Monika Hartl of the NC State women's golf team started off strong at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic on Sunday, as they each turned in a one-over par 73 to sit in a tie for 16th out of 84 players
Fric and Hartl lead the Wolfpack to a team score of 301 (+13) in the opening round of the tournament, hosted by Purdue at Rio Mar Country Club in Rio Mar, Puerto Rico. The Wolfpack is in ninth place out of 15 teams currently.
No. 14 Oklahoma State paces the tournament field with a three-under par 285, while No. 22 Virginia Tech and the Boilermakers are tied for second as both schools shot a combined 288 (E).
Lea Klimentova and Mim Sangkapong also contributed to the Pack's day one score with rounds of 77 (+5) and 78, respectively. Klimentova is in a tie for 50th and Sangkapong is T59th overall.
Natalie Armbruester rounded out the lineup with an eight-over par 80 to sit at T67th.
Additionally, Pilar Berchot, who is competing as an individual this week, shot an 85.
NC State will continue play at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic Monday in a 9 a.m. ET shotgun start.
