
Clairmonte Takes 3000M Title on First Day at Camel City Invite

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The NC State track and field team opened competition at the Camel City Invitational on Friday at the JDL Fast Track.
The women's distance runners impressed on Friday as the Pack had three top-10 finishes in the women's 3000m, including first and third-place finishes by Dominique Clairmonte and Anna Vess, respectively.
Sprints: Ally Henson qualified for the women's 60m hurdles finals with a third-place finish in the prelims and an 8.78 mark. That time ranks eighth in program history. In the finals, she set a new PR, crossing the finish line in 8.62 for second place.
The men were also represented in the 60m hurdles finals thanks to a second-place prelim finish. Cameron Murray clocked in at 8.05 to advance to the finals, which is the fourth-fastest time in the NC State record books. He notched an 8.09 in the finals to finish in fourth place.
Throws: Tyson Fortenberry took home fourth-place honors in men's weight throw competition with a 61'7.75" (18.79m) throw, which is a top-10 NC State mark.
