NC State Closes Out Competition at Camel City Invite

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The NC State track and field team closed out competition at the Camel City Invitational on Saturday at the JDL Fast Track. The squad earned a podium finish and set two PRs.
Distance: Kelsey Chmiel clocked in at 9:18.23 in the women's 3000m race, posting the fourth-fastest time among collegiate runners at the meet. The freshman's time currently sits in the top 15 nationally. Chmiel also outran the ACC qualifying standard by over 12 seconds.
Sprints: In the women's 60m dash prelims, Kylia Wright (7.64) and Aasiyah Barr (7.76) both set new PRs, and Wright advanced to the 60m dash finals after posting the third-fastest time in the prelims.
In the finals, Wright tied her PR (7.64) she set in the prelims to claim second-place honors in the 60m finals.
WOMEN'S 60M, Qualifying
The Pack multi-event athletes are set to compete at the Queens Multi-Events in Winston-Salem, N.C. on Tuesday, Feb. 11. The entire track and field squad gets back in action on at the New Mexico Don Kirby Elite Invitational (Feb. 13-14), the Tiger Paw Invite (Feb. 14-15) and the Valentine Invitational (Feb. 14-15).
