
Pack Sweeps Gators to Advance to ITA National Indoor Team Championships

RALEIGH – For the second consecutive season, the No. 8 NC State women's tennis team (8-0) has advanced to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships. The Pack swept No. 21 Florida 4-0 on Sunday afternoon to round out the ITA Kick-Off at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center.
The indoor championships will be held Feb. 7-10 in Chicago, Illinois.
With the win, NC State moved to 8-0 and Florida dropped to 1-1.
NC State trailed early in doubles on courts one and three before the squad got into a rhythm on all three courts, capturing its eighth-straight doubles point after 22nd-ranked Jaeda Daniel and Adriana Reami won a hard-fought 7-6 (6) decision on court two after NC State split the odd courts.
No. 1 Anna Rogers and Alana Smith were the first duo to strike for the Pack with a 6-3 win over Victoria Emma and Kessler, remaining undefeated in doubles dual competition. The match on court one was knotted at three before Rogers and Smith rattled off three straight games to turn the attention to court two with the doubles point on the line following a 6-4 defeat on court two as Florida's Marlee Zein and Sydney berlin defeated Liz Norman and Lexi Keberle.
The Pack came out ready to play in singles, taking five of the six first sets, including an impressive comeback by No. 31 Smith to capture the tiebreaker after falling behind 5-1. Daniel's 6-4, 6-4 victory over Dimitrova quickly put the squad up 2-0.
23rd-ranked Reami picked up her sixth ranked win of the season over 96th-ranked Emma to extend the Pack's lead to 3-0, and setting up teammate Norman, who was quickly closing in on straight sets, for the sweep.
Norman solidified the Pack win with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Sydney Berlin on court six.
