
Pack Captures First Top-10 Win in Program History During Doubleheader on Saturday

RALEIGH - The eighth-ranked NC State women's tennis team (4-0) captured a dominant 6-1 victory over ninth-ranked South Carolina in the first match of its doubleheader on Saturday afternoon. The win marked the program's first over a top-10 opponent.
The team closed out its doubleheader with a win over Charlotte Saturday evening.
South Carolina drops to 0-1 on the season, and Charlotte drops to 1-1.

The Wolfpack took the doubles point against the Gamecocks. Lexi Keberle and Liz Norman struck first, taking down Kennedy Wicker and Gabriela Martinez 6-2. The No. 1 duo of Anna Rogers and Alana Smith clinched the 1-0 start for the Wolfpack with a 6-4 win over Mia Horvit and Emma Shelton.
In the first leg of Saturday's doubleheader, the Pack collected two top-30 wins in singles. No. 31 Smith captured a three-set victory over 27th-ranked Mia Horvit on court one to clinch the match, and teammate No. 18 Rogers followed up Smith's ranked victory with one of her own on court two in straight sets (No. 28 Megan Davies).
Rogers and Smith registered their third and sixth wins in the ranked singles category of the young season.

NC State cruised past the 49ers, taking the doubles point in quick time on courts one and two.
In singles, the Pack continued its strong play, needing just straight sets in all six matches to claim a 7-0 win.
Freshman Lana Mavor picked up her first dual win in the victory.
