
#8 NC State Moves to 6-0 for Second Consecutive Season

RALEIGH – The #8 NC State women's tennis team moved to 6-0 for the second consecutive season on Monday, defeating Appalachian State 6-1 and East Carolina 7-0 at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center.
Appalachian State and East Carolina both dropped to 0-1 on the season.
NC State vs. Appalachian State
Dylan Cannon and Liz Norman jumped out to an early 3-1 lead on court three in doubles and were the first to capture a win on Monday. Trailing 3-1 on court two, Anna Rogers and Lana Mavor stormed back to tie the match at four-all before clinching the doubles point for the Pack with a 7-5 victory.
In singles, the Pack struggled early in its opening sets on four courts in the indoor facility, but was able to take three of four first sets to put the team in position itself to capture three consecutive matches (No. 23 Adriana Reami, Norman, Jaeda Daniel) in straight sets to earn NC State's fifth win of the season.
Mavor and Cannon rounded out the 6-1 win with singles wins of their own.
NC State vs. East Carolina
NC State needed a tie-breaker victory on court one in doubles to continue its perfect streak in earning the doubles point in the second leg of its doubleheader. 22nd-ranked Daniel and Reami clinched the 1-0 advantage heading into singles play.
NC State swept singles play in the second match.
Norman's singles win marked her eighth-straight win, and Reami's marked her seventh-straight win.
